WHO WE ARE
Historical Reenactments, NSW emerged out of a group called The NSW Corps of Marines which began to continue the work of Old Sydney Town after the closure of this iconic living history outdoor museum more than twenty years ago.
In 2024 we renamed and relaunched our public profile as 'Historical Reenactments, NSW' to reflect the broader scope of the periods we reenact, with a new emphasis on the Bushranger and Gold Rush Era of Australian History and every day civilian life in the 19th century.
At events we try to portray some of the aspects of what life was like 150 - 200 years ago through a demonstration of skills and drills from a bygone era, using everyday objects, tools and dress. We hope to impart our knowledge of history in a 'hands-on' participatory manner that will inspire, entertain and educate the communities we serve.
